Meet Angela, Principal Designer and Creative Director of Angela Chantell Interiors. Her journey began in the city of Los Angeles after completing her degree in Fashion Merchandising and Design at UofA Fayetteville. She fell in love with design as a craft and dove right into a career in the corporate interior design industry as head of remodeling, completing over two hundred remodel projects in the span of four years. After eight enriching years immersed in the world of interior design, she moved back to her home state of Arkansas — and with her, taking a huge love of west coast design and architecture. Her connection to the city and its vibrant roots never faded and continues to inspire our studio's signature style with each design we create. Since founding the studio in 2019, Angela has worked with clients from all over the United States, including large-scale residential and commercial projects that bring forth the passion and vision embodied in her work.
1. How would you describe your design style?
I have a huge love for west coast and Australian design and architecture. I wouldn’t put myself in one specific design style because I believe as we mature our style is consistently evolving. I will and always have loved a crisp white with a neutral palette. My 3 personal style words that I incorporate in anything I do are sultry, classic, and edgy. I absolutely love women artwork and things society might consider inappropriate. My personal house I want be a vibe. Let’s have a drink and chill.
2. What is your go-to color for painting a kitchen and what types of stone do you gravitate toward to match this?
My cabinet color of choice will always be white! i absolutely love white oak cabinets paired with cool December by Dunn Edwards or Chantilly lace by Benjamin Moore. I would pair it with a statement marble or travertine.
3. Favorite part about interior design?
My favorite part about interior design is that you get to deliver a tangible product to the client. I understand for a residential client they trust me to design the most important & largest financial investment they will ever make, which is their home! It brings me joy knowing I have the skill set to make my clients' home the best possible home for their families' wants and needs.
4. Favorite trend(s) of the year?
My favorite trend is really all of it! I love the direction the home industry is going. To get out of our bubbles and experience new designs and possibilities for our homes. I will always cater to the modern home. I love the warm tones, the curved drywall staircases, and anything plastered. I’m just here for it all.
5. What surface material are you or the majority of your clients into right now and why?
I'm in a rural area so I still have clients wanting granite because they are afraid of anything else. I work every day to steer them towards Cambria quartz, marble, quartzite, Dekton, and porcelain. It’s all about what's best for the look and the client. We have come along way style wise sense I entered this market 8 years ago. Clients are more open to the new modern way.
