A group from Pacific Shore Stones recently attended Coverings 2016, a large annual international trade fair and expo dedicated to the natural stone and tile industry. Held at McCormick Place in Chicago, the exhibition showcased all the latest stone products and trends from around the globe, as well as offering specialized training and education sessions tailored to attendees.
Held at the largest convention center in North America, the show brought together suppliers, distributors, architects, designers, fabricators and contractors under one roof, making it an ideal arena for sourcing new products. Pacific Shore Stones’ Operating Partners were in attendance, looking out for new products to bring back to the showrooms and warehouses, and new industry trends.
Quartz is a large growth area in the surface industry, and a multitude of new suppliers attended the show to present their products. Marble was also prevalent at the show, and bookmatched stone in general was featured at many of the show booths.
Events held during Coverings included a Women in Stone/Marble Institute Black Equinox event in association with Polycor at the Field Museum in Chicago. With an amazing setting complete with dinosaur skeletons and ancient relics, the event celebrated women in the stone industry and their achievements.
Coverings 2017 will be held next April in Orlando, Florida.
