Pacific Shore Stones Operating Partners Marco Pereira and Vinny Tavares recently visited Italy to hand-select and purchase stone for our locations, meet with suppliers and attend the world famous Marmomacc International Trade Fair for Stone Design and Technology. Marco and Vinny could see a great rebound in the international stone industry while visiting the stone fair. Suppliers from Italy and around the world all stated that North America’s markets were strong and saw an increase in exports of over 40% this year.
Purchasing marble was made more challenging on this trip due to increased demand for premium Calacatta at the quarries. Marco commented, “There is no doubt that white marble is still one of the most popular materials in the market. The days visiting the Carrara quarries and suppliers were very challenging selecting materials that meet our standards.”
