Silestone is a low-silica mineral surface composed of premium minerals and recycled materials. Its revolutionary Hybriq+® technology effectively reduces crystalline silica content, resulting in an innovative, sustainable, and high-performance mineral surface. Since 2023, all Silestone colors are manufactured with low crystalline silica content powered by Hybriq+®, with 85% of surfaces containing less than 40% crystalline silica and 15% with less than 10%.

In 2020, Cosentino launched the revolutionary Hybriq+® technology, which drastically reduced the crystalline silica content in Silestone’s composition. This breakthrough blends premium minerals with recycled materials to create a new product category: Mineral Hybriq+® Surfaces. The technology includes up to 10% and 40% of crystalline silica, 99% reused water, 100% renewable electric energy, and a minimum of 20% recycled materials. Each Silestone color features a label indicating the maximum percentage of crystalline silica present in its composition. This technology has been certified by prestigious international organizations, including SGS Australia, and complies with the highest environmental standards while maintaining the same level of performance, durability, and resistance.
Silestone is the only quartz surface on the market manufactured with bacteriostatic protection. This exclusive feature provides an additional layer of hygiene and safety, making it ideal for kitchen and bathroom applications where cleanliness is paramount. The non-absorbent and non-porous surface is highly resistant to staining, acids, impact, scratches, and burns. Health and safety have always been part of Silestone’s DNA, and it has been certified as safe and not generating any type of risk for the final consumer.
Silestone is manufactured using 100% renewable electric energy from natural sources, minimizing carbon footprint. Every year, Cosentino uses 12.45 GWh from renewable energies—equivalent to the electricity consumption of 12,000 households. The manufacturing process also uses 99% recycled water through a circular system of continuous filtration that saves every single drop. Silestone manufactured under Hybriq+® Technology includes at least 20% of recycled material, such as glass, in its composition. Recycling and circular economy are part of Cosentino’s philosophy, giving waste a second life.
