Logistics Manager Diane Bridges, a member of the Women in Stone Steering Committee, attended the Stone Expo East in Miami in October, participating in the Women in Stone Connection Conference. Pacific Shore Stones were event sponsors, showing their continued support and commitment to women in the stone industry. On the agenda was Lisbeth Calandrino discussing “Being a Woman in a Man’s World”, Toby Morrison outlined “Understanding Today’s Building Environment” and Dave Mitchell helped everyone understand their styles of communication in “The Power of Understanding People”. There was also a spirited panel discussion with four women in our industry giving their insights, personal experiences and answering questions. The event was attended by over 50 women nationally from various fields.
Women in Stone’s vision is to provide resources and opportunities to retain and advance women who have chosen a career in the stone industry as well as recruiting new women.
